About our Program
The LBIHA will work with any qualified candidate and any level of proficiency and will be flexible with the interns’ hours and availability.
​
This role is an unpaid internship position. The LBIHA functions as an all-volunteer organization.
These roles can be performed remotely with some in-person meetings in the museum required.

A few different opportunities for interns:
Oral History Project (Island Voices)

Capture and edit high quality videos for various projects;

Collaborate to develop concepts and storyboards;

Edit raw footage to create compelling and visually appealing videos;

Add motion graphics, special effects and animations to enhance the video;

Timely delivery of completed videos while meeting project deadlines.

Collections:
-
Capture high-quality photographic images of museum exhibits;
-
Research provenance of exhibits;
-
Organize and document exhibits, documents and artifacts and upload them to CatalogIT;
-
Collaborate with museum staff for archival best practices.

Qualifications
-
Proficiency in digital media;
-
Experience in videography and/or photography;
-
Knowledge in camera operation, lighting techniques and audio recording;

Strong research capability and intellectual curiosity;
-
Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment;
-
Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and effective communication skills.
